An unusually large number of people have asked me to comment on the BBC Hausa news report that uncovered that the Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Project in Taraba that the Buhari regime has touted as its landmark achievement is a mammoth fraud that hasn't even taken off the ground.
What will I write that hasn't been written already? My older brother Dr. Aliyu U. Tilde wrote about it. Jaafar Jaafar also captured it brilliantly and deployed social media archival materials to put the lie to the rhetorical abracadabra of paid government propagandists.
What else can I say? In any case, I've talked about this regime's compulsive duplicity and mendacity since 2015 when it wasn't fashionable to do so. Nothing the regime does shocks me anymore.
I like to talk about important issues that people who should talk are ignoring either for fear of consequences or because they're compromised.
Buhari killed the project in the 80s as well as the Ikere gorge dam in Oyo state at 75% completion. This litany of failed projects isn't new by either this administration or any of the other ones too.
